Get your tickets: The digital future of building design and construction

November 14, DAC is hosting Urbantech Session #2. Talks and workshops will explore how new digital practices and technologies are changing efficiency, sustainability and creativity in building design and construction processes – and how it will completely change the way we work.

Digital technologies are rapidly evolving and implementation of new digital tools is key to increased productivity, sustainable production and value creation. Yet, the building industry is far behind other industries in adopting new technologies. How can companies and professionals within architecture, construction and urban planning make use of these new tools – and what value does it create?

Through this second Urbantech Session we will explore trends and near-future technologies within building processes. Phil Ayres from CITA – Centre for Information Technology and Architecture, will join us to discuss how new technologies transform the way we think, design and build – how it allows materially smart solutions and what it means for the professional within the industry.

Peter Munkholm from AM hub – Denmark’s national focal point for Additive Manufacturing, will present how 3D print provides completely new opportunities in design and construction processes. He will introduce the so-called “Moonshot” projects that push the limits of what 3D printing can do, now and in the future.

We will also meet one of the start-ups from the Urbantech program as an example of how innovative start-ups can boost sustainable development and push the industry towards technological innovation.
