What is your most surprising prediction about cities?

Claus A. Foss Rosenstand, PhD

I predict that we will see more convergence of urban technologies than expected in 10 years; however, it will be less than expected in the next 4-5 years.

Who is the person that most influenced the way you think about cities and technology?

Ray Kurzweil and his theory of accelerating return coupled Clayton Christensen‘s theory on digital disruption – leading to the concept of digital disruption.

What 2-3 books / podcasts would you recommend?

Well, as above:
Ray Kurzweil’s and Clayton Christensen’s publications.

Podcasts on Exponential Wisdom from Peter Diamandis and Dan Sullivan. There is more than 100, and I have enjoyed all of them. Finally, if I may, my own publications.

Where’s the best place for new ideas?

In the interpersonal force of imagination.

In addition to Ray Kurzweil, Clayton Christensen, and Peter Diamandis – as mentioned above …

Salim Ismail, Ron Adner, Alex Osterwalder, Niklas Luhmann, Imanual Kant, Peter Checkland, and Danial Kahneman.

What are the skills we’ll need in 10 years?

Force of digital imagination. It is a competence and can as such be cultivated.

Festina Lente – Hurry up, slowly.
